Vizualizing Processes & Data
Visualizing Processes --- Everyone took three sheets of large paper and gathered up markers.
The first exercise was five minutes of non-stop drawing. It didn't matter what you drew, it just mattered that you were drawing for the entire 5 minutes. The second exercise was listing 5 nouns and 5 verbs that related to a project that you were working on. Then, drawing pictures to represent those nouns and verbs. The third exercise was taking those pictures and stringing them together along a line to represent a process.
The exercises were designed to get people to start thinking visually when they are taking notes, explaining a concept, or trying to communicate something complex. Your notes will be more engaging, easier to understand, and more fun for others to read after you start to incorporate visual communication frameworks into your everyday thoughts.
