Use a digital whiteboard to collaborate with team

The Communications Agreement

  • Info: what are we communicating about - a program that isn't doing well, marketing that needs input - lay the info out in front of everybody, remove Ego, and get on same page for the Info Ecosystem.
  • Mechanisms: how are we going to talk about the Info? Email? Slack? What are the favorite tools, is there pushback- if so, why? If people hate email they won't use ** ** ** Focus: What are the top three things we have to focus on? Could have secondary layer, too.

Collaboration: Who's going to do what with whom? The heart of what we do, digital whiteboards can define things and go from "ME" to "WE" that's the important journey for organizations to take. Ease up that daily work, keep things efficient, give everybody opportunity for active leadership by forming relationships+respect for the work we're all doing in an organization. We know we are respecting work by communicating well about it.

Q: Re: Teaching this process- where are groups before they use this tool? Are they starting from scratch or..?

  • A: Last org was doing a lot of silo work, not a lot of full understanding of the other teams (CAT DIRECTORS). All volunteer org!! So first break down who does what- departments communicating with other departments- what needed to be known. Then brought in membership survey results. Memberships having vote on every bylaw/decision without education on what they are voting on is an issue- have to break down strategically- what's important in the work? What's important for members to receive? This process brings all that into focus.

What isn't working is where you suggest streamline changes to make things work.
