Facilitated by Nathan Freitas

Nathan is one of the developers working with the New York State Senate to implement a number of open government initiatives (http://openideals.com/2009/06/09/video-my-open-data-for-developers-session-from-capitolcamp/). In addition to describing both the open data and open source goals of the project, Nathan, a long-time social justice activist, will also reflect on the “outside-in vs inside-out” issue issues in the the Open Government equation, describing what it's like to work from the “inside” of the system, and how those efforts complement action that is happening from foundations and non-profits on the “outside”.
