Team Name Origins

Prior to the competition, Evan proposed the question, "What country did the scripting language, Lua, come from?" Gunner rejected it, saying that it was "too geeky even for this crowd." Dripping with bitter resentment, the team decided to adopt the moniker, "The Flying Luas," and swore to wreak havoc on the competition.

Several hours later, after going neck-to-neck with Turd-Filled Donuts for most of the evening, we finally pulled ahead, taking the crown (to the relief of Gunner, who quaked at the thought of saying, "Turd-Filled Donuts," at opening circle the following morning) and disturbing everyone -- including ourselves -- with our off-the-charts levels of geekiness. We came, we saw, we conquered. Now we need to get some lives.

Until next year...
